The curricula were developed in response to customers' requests for a wide range of training for their employees.

DTCC Learning currently offers a full Asset Services curriculum, in addition to select Clearance and Settlement curricula courses. More courses for the last two curricula will be available in the future. Courses for new products and services will be added after they are launched.

The structure of the courses provides building blocks that allow the student to start with the basics and advance to more complex topics and case studies. Students learn at their own pace and demonstrate what they've learned through pre- and post-course assessments. Students who complete all levels of an entire track within a curriculum (for example, Reorganization Levels 1, 2, and 3) will receive a certificate of completion.

Hot Topic: Mortgage-Backed Securities

  • What is a “To-Be-Announced” (TBA) MBS transaction?

"To-Be-Announced" (TBA) MBS trades are newly issued mortgage-backed securities that are transacted in the forward market.

Counterparties to TBA transactions know the interest rate, years, settlement month, and CUSIP of the trade but not the actual underlying pools, or mortgages, until "48-hour day."

On "48-hour day" (2 days before settlement), counterparties are notified (via FICC's EPN) on what pools make up the transacted MBS.
